10 Gadgets And 17 Apps to Get You Going On A Summer Holiday

When summer hits and that weather reaches perfection, you find you're always on the go, making plans to enjoy as much of those sunny days as possible. Thanks to technology gone are the days of getting lost in unknown places and struggling to book a place to stay when you travel. With so many apps and gadgets to help you out you can now accommodate a little more fun during your trips.Wherever you're going to sun yourself on a beach, head off on a road trip, or hike your way through some mountains, here's  are some of the coolest products and apps you should consider bringing on your next trip .

 1 - Away Luggage Charges your Phone while you wait for your Flight - Imagine a world where your luggage rolls next to you and you can charge your phone without searching the airport for a power outlet.That is the world away wants to offer with its durable suitcases. 8 - Bluetooth Smart PadLock -  This is probably a little bit big to slap on your suitcase, but there are plenty of uses for padlocks for the security conscious travelling away from home. Keys can be lost, combinations can be forgotten, but this one can be unlocked via Bluetooth using your phone. All you need is the app. But phones run out of battery, which means you can unlock this with a combination as well.

1 - Overnight helps you find a place to crash last-minute - Overnight offers users on demand booking of short term rentals think Airbnb meets Hotel Tonight. Overnight's rentals are often cheap and users can often find accommodation in 10 minutes or less.

2 - G.Spotting is a curated travel directory from Gwyneth Paltrow - If you've ever wanted to travel like Gwyneth ,there's an app that can help. G.Spotting from the team at Goop is a curated directory of places to visit in 27 destinations worldwide. The app helps you find a restaurant , pick places to shop , choose a hotel , and dress like a local.  

3 - VSCO will make your vacation photos look professionally shot and Instagram ready - VSCO is a free app that lets you fine -tune your photos with beautiful results.It's east to make minor adjustments to your photos or test out the variety of filters available . While Instagram is catching up , VSCO is still the best photo editing app out there.

4 - Dufl Wants To Eliminate The Pain of Packing - Dufl is designed to cater to frequent business travellers. The app sends your bag to your destination for you , then washes or dry cleans all your clothes when you're done. Your clothes are then stored away until your next trip.The storage service runs at $10 a month , and each bag sent to your destination costs $99 round trip including the cleaning and repacking.

5- Bandsintown Concerts - is a mobile app for Android and IOS devices that lets you discover gigs happening in your locale. You can either type in a musician or band you like or let the app scan your device's music library, and from there it will tell you if any of your favourite artists are playing nearby. If you find something you want to see, you can buy tickets straight from the app.

6 - Sun surveyor Lite  - A big part of going on holiday is eking out every possible drop of sunlight, and these days there are tools available to help holidaymakers do just that. Sun Surveyor Lite is a 3D compass app for Android and Apple Smartphones that lets you track the position of the sun from dusk to dawn and visualise its bearing via an augmented reality camera function, which means you'll know exactly where you'll need to be to catch that sunset.

10- Find My Friends - Find My Friends makes life a lot easier by using GPS to plot the location of your friend on a map in real-time, so you can navigate your way back to the team. They can also see your location if they use the same app. The Android version even lets you find those who don't have a smartphone, as long as they accept a text invitation from you.

11- CWarn -  is a free global tsunami warning system that monitors earthquake action and sends out a text message to anyone in a location that’s at risk of being hit. Simply join up and enter the location of your holiday for additional peace of mind. Any risk will be sent to your phone through a message detailing timelines and threat level. Locations can be easily changed if you’re moving around. Anyone affected will get one of the following warning levels: Green: Very low likelihood of humanitarian disaster Orange: Potential humanitarian disaster Red: Very high likelihood of humanitarian disaster.

12- Lounge Buddy - Just because you aren't flying first class, it doesn't mean you can't take advantage of all the amenities airports have to offer. Lounge Buddy is a great way to see what's available, for what price, in case you have some time to kill at the airport and the chairs at your gate aren't cutting it.

13 - Hopper - If you haven't already booked your flights for the holidays, Hopper will alert you when airfares for your trip are at their lowest. The app can also alert you to great deals departing from your home airport.

14- Wunderground - Get detailed weather forecasts before you leave home with wunderground so you know what to pack, and so you can anticipate potential airport or highway delays.

15 - Cleartrip - Cleartrip is one of the best apps and services to come out of India. It lets you book every step of your journey from scratch and supports various local airlines, hotels, and other services as well. Cleartrip also lets you book trains and buses in India. The apps are great across platforms making Cleartrip an amazing service.

16- Flightboard - FlightBoard, by the same developer as Flight Track 5, is a great companion app for a flight tracking app. It lets you view the flight schedule of a particular airport and get into flight information quickly. It basically transforms your touch device into an arrivals or departures board for an airport of your choice.

17 - Uber - If you aren't keen on public transport initially, Uber is available in many cities across the world and is a great taxi service. Keep in mind that the payment methods used by Uber in India will not work outside so you will need to add payment methods while you are abroad for your cards to work there. I'm not happy with the solution either. Uber is quick and reliable and you should be using it when you can. It's not going to be available in every city you visit, but there are local equivalents in most places now - no matter where you go, make sure you have a reliable taxi app on your phone.
